A couple of months ago, a public relations rep reached out to me regarding several Black-owned beauty brands. While I enjoy highlighting quality Black-owned businesses, I don\u2019t write about items that I don\u2019t or won\u2019t use.\u00a0 The CocoLash<\/a> products stood out, though.<\/p>\n\n\n

I don\u2019t normally wear lashes but I wanted to try them for an upcoming family member\u2019s red carpet-themed 50th birthday party. I thought the Daisy<\/a> lashes would be a great start since they are subtle and natural-looking.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not someone who even wears makeup every day. My friends and I (who are in our 50s) often joke about how lucky we feel to have grown up in an era when big hair, lashes, and full-coverage makeup weren\u2019t daily requirements. I was happy just being a \u201cregular shmegular\u201d Black girl!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, when special occasions arise, I do like to take my beauty game up a notch. I\u2019ve tried wearing lashes for big events several times in the past year, but they never worked out and I ended up giving the lashes to the teen girls in the ministry that I work with. (These teens know how to put those lashes on better than me!)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

The only time recently that\u00a0 I managed to successfully get lashes on correctly was when I paid for a professional lash application at a local beauty store. I planned on repeating this for the birthday party. Then\u00a0I found out I had to actually buy the lashes at the store in addition to paying the lash application fee. (Oops!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To my pleasant surprise, it was very easy to do the CocoLash lash application myself! The process was actually straightforward. I found the Super Lash Bond simple to apply and the Precision Tweezers were also easy to use. If you can put on mascara and tweeze unruly eyebrow hairs, you can definitely use their products. If I can do it, most people can!<\/p>\n\n\n

I had asked for the Daisy lash set, which was lovely. I only used one of the multiple lash pieces per eye because I prefer a subtle look. That\u2019s what I like about Coco lashes\u2014you can use one, two, three, or more pieces to get the look you want. For someone like me who likes minimalist makeup, just one or two tips work perfectly to enhance an eye look without making the enhancement super obvious. Later, I also tried two pieces per eye from the Orchid<\/a> set that I was sent (in order to get images for this post). <\/p>\n\n\n
