Last night, I attended a special screening and dessert party for Kyra Sedgwick\u2019s The Closer<\/em> at this great little spot, ULTRA. One of my favorite parts of attending events is connecting the names and faces of other bloggers and journalists whose writing I follow.<\/p>\n

I knew in advance that two Philadelphia- area bloggers, Jo-Lynne of Musings of a Housewife and her friend Colleen of Classy Mommy would be attending. (They shared their enthusiasm about attending\/trying to figure out what to wear on their blogs.) Jo-Lynne was really sweet. In addition to being a blogger, she is also a blog designer so I was asking her questions about WordPresss\/sharing with her the challenges of my recent blog redesign. Colleen was also nice. I had read that she had a MBA from Cornell. I\u2019m considering going back to school in a couple of years to get either an MBA or a Master\u2019s in Journalism, so I was getting her input. (That future phase of my life is still a HUGE question mark, but that\u2019s another post.)<\/p>\n

I\u2019m always happy when others initiate \u201chellos\u201d, which the Creole Princess (a really outgoing, lovely lady) did. Yvette Segal, the founder of My Kids Registry was also very warm and friendly. We were talking about out shared experiences of having husbands work from home. Since this is a somewhat new situation for me, I asked her how she handles it. She deadpanned, \u201cI drink a lot more\u201d (she was just kidding \u2013 I think!).<\/p>\n

I was also able to see some familiar faces. Kelcey of The Mama Bird Diaries was there. I shared with her how moving some of her recent posts have been (she has been such a great friend to a mom-friend of hers who recently lost her husband) to me. Judy Antell the Editor-in-Chief of Big Apple Parent<\/em><\/a> (my favorite regional parenting publication!) was there with her husband. Jeanne Muchnick, a blogger for LOHUDmoms.com was also there. I had met Jeanne at a Select Italy<\/a> cooking class\/dinner earlier this year. Last night, we joked that we\u2019re both huge fans of Beth Feldman (who helped to pull The Closer <\/em>event together). It\u2019s true. Beth is so sincere and such a great connector that (schedule-permitting) I would attend practically anything that she had a hand in putting together.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
