<\/p>In keeping with my commitment to \u201coutside\u201d dates with my husband each month, we went on a daytime date last Thursday since he was home on Spring Break. (We had planned a fancy evening date the first weekend of the month, but Sean and I became sick \u2013 oh well!)\n

We had so much fun! We went to Queens to drop off something at his parent\u2019s home. Then, Reggie gave me a driving lesson in Queens. (Now, that I\u2019ve learned the basics, I just need time actually practice driving. I don\u2019t feel comfortable doing that with kids in the car, so this was perfect. My husband won\u2019t take me out in Manhattan \u2013 he says that the drivers are too \u201ccrazy\u201d, but he was a great instructor in Queens.) <\/p>\n

After the driving lesson, we went to Pinang Malaysian Restaurant in Forest Hills (the area that we\u2019re considering moving to soon). Oh my goodness \u2013 the food was so good. We had the Roti Canai for an appetizer. (This dish is consistently good at every Thai or Malaysian restaurant that we have visited.) We had shrimp pad thai, chicken curry and Malaysian ribs as main courses. Everything (especially the ribs) was excellent. (If you\u2019re counting, that\u2019s three main courses for two people. We didn\u2019t eat everything though \u2013 we took some home for the kids.) The only thing that I don\u2019t like about Malaysian and Thai \u2013 type restaurants is that I never seem to like the dessert options. Never mind, we were too stuffed for dessert anyway!<\/p>\n

Reggie\u2019s aunt babysat for us. Our kids love her so much that they never want her to leave when we come back. She plays all types of games with them (besides the electronic ones \u2013 she\u2019s not really \u201cinto\u201d the Wii or the Nintendo DS). One board game \u2013 The Ladybug Game \u2013 that I recently received from Target<\/a> was a hit with both of the kids. Technically, it\u2019s for ages 3 & up, but both my 2 and 5 year old sons enjoy it (kids don\u2019t need to read to play it). The ladybug images are colorful and the kids get to practice their numbers as they go back and forward based on the card that they choose. They also get chips (you would have thought that they were money the way that my kids hoarded them!) if they draw special cards. In any event, it\u2019s a fun game for the babysitter (or us parents!) to keep the kids entertained.
