In the June issue of Parenting<\/em> magazine, they have an article called \u201cBoys vs. Girls: Who\u2019s Harder to Raise\u201d. It\u2019s an interesting read. Their breakdown in regards to which is harder:<\/p>\n

-Discipline: boys
\n-Physical Safety: boys
\n-Communication: first boys, then girls
\n-Self-esteem: girls
\n-School: mostly boys
\nTheir bottom line: \u201cOn balance, the general consensus seems to be that boys are more of a handful early on, and girls more challenging beginning in the preteen years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Personally, I think that it depends on the individual kids and their parents. I\u2019ve worked with kids from newborn to college-aged for the last 14 years in various capacities. I\u2019ve seen a lot of girls that were a handful early on that grew up to be wonderful young ladies and I\u2019ve known a lot of sweet natured young boys who became \u201cterrors\u201d as they grew older (and vice versa!). <\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
