The dish also included zucchini and roasted plum tomatoes. Everything was in a delicious fresh basil sauce. You can find the shrimp and gnocchi recipe below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-shrimp-and-gnocchi\">Shrimp and Gnocchi<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mominthecity.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/P1050341.jpg\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"print-this-button-shell\">\n<button type=\"button\" class=\"print-this-button\" onClick=\"parent.location='https:\/\/mominthecity.com\/shrimp-and-gnocchi-recipe\/?printthis=1&printsect=1'\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Print This!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/button>\n<\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 Start -->\n<div class=\"print-this-content\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sauteed Wild Pacific Shrimp with President Feta Cheese Gnocchi<br>Parisienne Zucchini and Roasted Plum Tomatoes in a Fresh Basil Sauce<\/strong><br><strong><em>(By Aquagrill\u2019s Chef Jeremy Marshall)<\/em><\/strong> <br><em>Yields: 4 portions<\/em><br><br><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>8 plum tomatoes, halved<\/li><li>20 melon balls of zucchini<\/li><li>20 large shrimp (peeled, deveined and cute in half)<\/li><li>2 tbsp chopped garlic<\/li><li>6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (Reserve 3 ounces for sauteing shrimp.)<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp chopped thyme<\/li><li>Salt to taste<\/li><li>Pepper to taste<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gnocchi Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 lb potatoes, peeled<\/li><li>12 ozs <a href=\"https:\/\/presidentcheese.com\/products\/feta-cheese\/president-feta-crumbles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">President feta cheese<\/a><\/li><li>1 lb flour<\/li><li>1\/2 cup milk<\/li><li>1 egg<\/li><li>Pepper to taste<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gnocchi Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Boil potatoes until tender.<br><br>2. Place potatoes on a sheet tray in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven and dry for 7 minutes.<br><br>3. Remove from oven and pass through a food mill.<br><br>4. Place flour over the potatoes. Add in egg and feta.<br><br>5. Slowly mix potato and flour until thoroughly combined. Roll into 1\/2 inch balls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Basil Sauce Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>3 ozs white chicken stock (or broth)<\/li><li>6 ozs butter<\/li><li>1\/2 bunch basil (Reserve 4 basil tops for garnish.)<\/li><li>Salt to taste<\/li><li>Pepper to taste<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Basil Sauce Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Boil chicken stock and butter together.<br><br>2. Chop basil (stems and leaves).<br><br>3. Add basil to boiling chicken stock and butter.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Transfer to a blender. Blend until smooth and bright green. <br><br>5. Strain through a fine sieve or chamois.<br><br>6. Add salt and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vegetable Garnish<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Season tomatoes with salt and pepper.<br><br>2. Add garlic and thyme.<br><br>3. Place on a sheet pan in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes (until soft but not mushy).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Cool, peel skin, then rough chop.<br><br>5. Adjust seasoning.<br><br>6. Blanch zucchini balls in boiling salted water until the water begins to boil at the edge of the pot.<br><br>7. Remove to iced salted water. Strain and reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cooking Method and Plating<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Season shrimp with salt and pepper.<br><br>2. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a medium saute pan.<br><br>3. When the pan begins to smoke, add shrimp and saute for 30 seconds.<br><br>4. Add tomatoes, zucchini and basil sauce.<br><br>5. Spoon onto a plate. Garnish with basil tops and serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 End -->\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cooking Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I also want to share a few helpful tips that I learned from Chef Marshall as he cooked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>* When preparing gnocchi, it is easy to tell when it is ready.<\/strong>\u00a0When the water\u00a0<strong>just<\/strong>\u00a0comes to a boil and the gnocchi floats, it is ready. It will fluff a bit because the egg is expanding. Another word on gnocchi\u2026don\u2019t prepare the dough beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*Seafood from the wild is preferable to farm-raised<\/strong> seafood.\u00a0The flavor is better.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*If you <strong>cut shrimp in half when serving it with pasta<\/strong>, it will accomplish two things: 1. diners will have more bites of shrimp and 2. it causes the shrimp to have a better texture. (It\u2019s true. I have followed this particular tip since this event.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>If you found this post helpful, please share it.
