2021 was an interesting year when it came to food. During the first part of the year, I rarely went out to eat. Once my family was fully vaccinated though, I did start to venture out to restaurants more. I LOVE restaurants. The variety of foods from different cultures is one of my favorite things about living in NYC. Like many of you, I still primarily cooked and ate at home though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the several hundreds of recipes on this site, I want to share your 2021 favorites. I love knowing that other home cooks are making the same dishes that I am. Especially around the holidays, I notice that the recipes that you readers are viewing the most are the same ones that I\u2019m making for my loved ones. (I don\u2019t remember most recipes in my mind so I\u2019m checking my recipe ingredients and instructions just like you!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking Forward to 2022<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll be sharing even more recipes this year. There are almost 50 dishes that I have prepared but haven\u2019t shared on the blog yet. Most of you know how much I love my air fryer so there will definitely be more air fryer recipes in addition to soul food and traditional ones. One thing that (almost) all of my recipes will have in common though is that they will be easy to make. Life (especially during these times) can be complex so I like to keep my dishes simple\u2026and tasty!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to new recipes, I will be going through my archives and sharing the \u201cbest of Mom in the City\u201d content this year. Some of you have been reading my posts for the last 15+ years but many of you have not. That is why I want to make sure that you get a chance to see some past reader favorites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As many of my longtime readers know, I love to choose a Word of the Year to set my focus. With so much uncertainty in the world, my 2022 word is \u201cBelieve\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
