Fathers are wonderful people
\ntoo little understood,
\nAnd we do not sing their praises
\nas often as we should\u2026 <\/p>\n
For, somehow, Father seems to be
\nthe man who pays the bills,
\nWhile Mother binds up little hurts
\nand nurses all our ills\u2026 <\/p>\n
And Father struggles daily
\nto live up to \u201chis image\u201d
\nAs protector and provider
\nand \u201chero of the scrimmage\u201d\u2026 <\/p>\n
And perhaps that is the reason
\nwe sometimes get the notion
\nThat Fathers are not subject
\nto the thing we call emotion, <\/p>\n
But if you look inside Dad\u2019s heart,
\nwhere no one else can see,
\nYou\u2019ll find he\u2019s sentimental
\nand as \u201csoft\u201d as he can be\u2026 <\/p>\n
But he\u2019s too busy every day
\nin the gruelling race of life,
\nHe leaves the sentimental stuff
\nto his partner and his wife\u2026 <\/p>\n
But Fathers are just wonderful
\nin a million different ways,
\nAnd they merit loving compliments
\nand accolades of praise, <\/p>\n
For the only reason Dad aspires
\nto fortune and success
\nIs to make the family proud of him
\nand to bring them happiness\u2026 <\/p>\n
And like Our Heavenly Father,
\nhe\u2019s a guardian and a guide,
\nSomeone that we can count on
\nto be always on our side. <\/p>\n
