During a recent school break, Medieval Times NJ<\/a> invited my family to review their Lyndhurst, NJ dinner and tournament location. For a couple of hours my family was transported back into ancient times\u2026and we thoroughly enjoyed it!<\/p>\n

Highlights of Medieval Times NJ<\/h2>\n

\u2013The falcon<\/strong> flying around at the beginning of the show<\/p>\n

\u2013Birthday announcements<\/strong>: This would be a great place to celebrate a birthday in a special way because the whole arena cheers for those who are celebrating their birthdays.<\/p>\n

-The food:<\/strong> This was \u201cmy guys\u201d favorite part because it was so plentiful. To our pleasant surprise, the four-course feast was really flavorful. We all enjoyed eating the chicken, corn on the cob, potato wedges, garlic bread and apple turnovers with our hands for the sake of authenticity. \ud83d\ude42 The meal also came with drinks \u2013 Pepsi, water and coffee. (We skipped the tomato bisque soup.)<\/p>\n

-The live show:<\/strong> Our section\u2019s knight, the red one, won the tournament. It was fun cheering him on during his sword fights and jousts with his competitors. The atmosphere in the arena really was electric as each section cheered on their champions during the various fast-paced skits. The interactive nature of the show definitely made it keep our attention. (The horses were also beautiful.)<\/p>\n

Overall, it was a great opportunity to be taken back in time as a family. As my son Michael mentioned, it reminded him of Heath Ledger\u2019s role in\u00a0A Knight\u2019s Tale<\/em><\/a>. That is cool because it is one of our favorite movies!<\/p>\n

Since students will be out for the summer soon, definitely keep an eye on the Medieval Times NJ website for student discounts. Even if you can\u2019t get a discount, the regular prices are perfectly reasonable for dinner and a show. (Medieval Times NJ is currently running a \u201cdads eat free\u201d promotion for Father\u2019s Day. They run a variety of promotions throughout the year.)<\/p>\n
