We just got back home from going on a mini family vacation at the Jersey shore.\u00a0 My husband and oldest son didn\u2019t want to come back, but all good things must come to an end. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s amazing how bonding it is to get away from everything and everyone for a few days and just focus on the family.\u00a0 My oldest son Michael was joined at the hip with his Dad while my baby Sean and I were able to get some one on one time for us.\u00a0 Michael is a (relatively) well mannered kid anyway, but while we were away, he was like \"superkid\"\u00a0\u2013 no meltdowns, sharing with his baby brother, clearing the table for everyone, etc.\u00a0 (My husband and I kept asking, \"Can we take this kid home with us?\")\u00a0 It was also fun to see Sean\u2019s little personality coming through.\u00a0 He\u2019s a little dance machine.\u00a0 He kept turning the dial on the radio and every time that it actually landed on music, he just threw his hands in the air and moved his whole little body all\u00a0over the place (so cute!).<\/p>\n
Our favorite parts of the trip were:
\n-The\u00a0Boardwalk: Michael was able to play the live versions of\u00a0some of the Wii Carnival games that he loves.\u00a0 I was also able to introduce him to the\u00a0\"ancient\" game of\u00a0Pac-man.<\/p>\n
-The Cape May County Park and Zoo: This place was by far my favorite family-friendly zoo.\u00a0 All of the animals were so near (yet safe) that the kids could see them up close.\u00a0 It\u2019s also easy to walk around and see everything without exhausting the kids.\u00a0 My husband and I were just as excited as Michael and Sean.\u00a0 They also had a reasonably priced cafe area to eat lunch.\u00a0 After, the zoo and lunch, we went to the park (which was equipped for young toddlers to older kids).\u00a0 This place was so great and did I mention that it was free\/donations only?!\u00a0\u00a0My husband and I kept saying, \"It would be\u00a0so great to\u00a0have something like this in the city\".\u00a0 Of course we have the Central Park Zoo\u00a0(much smaller), the Bronx Zoo (much bigger \u2013 impossible to see everything in a day), etc. but they\u00a0don\u2019t compare.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n
-The food: It may just be that everything tastes better when I don\u2019t have to cook it.\u00a0 Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful.\u00a0 It\u2019s probably good that we\u2019re back so that I can go back on my Weight Watchers plan!\u00a0 <\/p>\n
