You\u2019ve probably heard the saying, \"When the Student is Ready<\/span>, the Teacher Will Appear\".\u00a0 Well, I guess that I\u2019m ready to lose my last pregnancy (yeah, right\u2026my \"baby\" is 13 months) pounds \u2014 and the \"teacher\" has appeared in the form of Weight Watchers<\/a> (?!)<\/p>\n

I know \u2014 I couldn\u2019t believe it either.\u00a0 So here\u2019s what happened.\u00a0 Every three months, I evaluate the last three months and\u00a0make specific goals for the next three months.\u00a0 (Since my finance days, I\u2019ve been stuck on a \"quarter\" system.)\u00a0 Anyway, as I examined the various areas of my life, I felt like (as far as\u00a0the things that are within my control) things were\u00a0pretty much on track\/going as planned EXCEPT\u00a0my goal to\u00a0\"be at my pre-baby \"fighting weight\" before I turn 35 on May 21st\".<\/p>\n

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I have no outside motivation to lose this last bit of weight.\u00a0 In fact, my mom and husband are like \"you might lose your butt if you lose any weight\".\u00a0\u00a0Well, I\u2019m willing to take that risk!\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

So, as I was renewing my resolve to lose the weight, I received an invitation to a Weight Watchers event focusing on achieving \"a healthier lifestyle that works for you\".\u00a0 I figured it couldn\u2019t hurt to get a few tips on the food front (since I\u2019ve decided to go back to what worked for me in the past exercise-wise \u2014 Tae-bo).\u00a0 I\u2019m so glad that I went.\u00a0 Weight Watchers is not (only) the program that I was vaguely familiar with.\u00a0 For one thing (and I apologize in advance to any Weight Watchers), I thought that it was primarily for extremely overweight people.\u00a0 It turns out that it is for them, but it\u2019s also for people trying to lose 5+ pounds (like me!).\u00a0 The other two things that I liked were:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 They now have an online program in addition to the traditional weekly meetings.\u00a0 I am not a meeting person, so I would never commit to attending meetings.\u00a0 I am a computer person, so I like the online option.\u00a0 In my mind, with this option I\u2019m only accountable to myself!<\/p>\n

And<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 They now offer two different food plans \u2013 flex and core.\u00a0 The flex plan is what I associated with Weight Watchers (counting points).\u00a0 That\u2019s great for a lot of people, but I\u2019m just not into counting calories, however it\u2019s packaged.\u00a0 I do like their core plan where I\u00a0can eat as much as I like (within reason of course!) of low-calorie foods.<\/p>\n

So, for the next three months, I\u2019m going to be trying their online program.\u00a0 I\u2019ll let you know how it goes.\u00a0 Who knows?\u00a0 Perhaps I\u2019ll meet my birthday goal after all.\u00a0 (In any event, I\u2019ll be healthier based on the effort!)<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
