On Monday, I was scheduled to be interviewed for one of my favorite business podcasts, Entrepreneur on Fire<\/a>. (The episode will go live in April, so I will tell you more about it then.) The only problem was that I woke up coughing and sounding like Kermit the Frog due to lovely mixture of allergies, cold and bronchitis. With a few hours to spare, I reached out to my friends on Facebook for natural sore throat remedy suggestions. Thankfully, they came through for me. I did a mixture of what they suggested and (thankfully!) was able to get through the half-hour interview without one cough. Below were the top suggestions:<\/p>\n

1. Gargle with warm water and salt.<\/p>\n

2. Drink a lemon and honey mixture.<\/p>\n

3. Drink tea and honey.<\/p>\n

4. Sip molasses and honey with lemon.<\/p>\n

5. My friend Candace suggested that \u201cAfter a salt gargle, drink hot water \u2013 hot as you can take \u2013 with lots of honey, a dash of lemon and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper mixture.<\/p>\n

6. Natasha recommended the \u201djuice of half a lemon mixed in with hot green tea, a teaspoon of raw honey and a tablespoon of fresh grated ginger\u201d.<\/p>\n

7. My friend Beth shared one of her posts \u2028Five Ways to Cure a Sore Throat which had some great ideas that my friends had not mentioned. Check it out! <\/p>\n

8. Suck on some horehound\u2028. <\/p>\n

Then (of course) I had the comic relief answers\u2026 <\/p>\n

\u201cJust go with it and sing, \u201cIt Ain\u2019t Easy Being Green.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJust sing the Rainbow Connection and it\u2019ll be complete.\u201d <\/p>\n
