I\u2019m not even joking. These are the best oatmeal raisin cookies that I have ever tasted in my life. I sent some to my father-in-law as a treat\/to get them out of my home so that I wouldn\u2019t eat them all up, but now I want to make another batch.

They are so good that it\u2019s bad. I was at the point of rationalizing that these could make healthy(ish) breakfast cookies. You know\u2026it\u2019s like oatmeal on the go. (I don\u2019t even like oatmeal, but don\u2019t people add butter, cinnamon, and sugar in it for breakfast?)

Okay, I know that I\u2019m stretching\u2026 but if I were to substitute whole-wheat flour for the all-purpose flour in the ingredients, I could probably make a case. I\u2019m not going to do that though\u2026these cookies are amazing \u201cas is\u201d. They are just perfect. I bet that you can\u2019t eat just one either\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

Anyway, I had clipped this recipe from the New York Daily News<\/em>\u00a0newspaper all the way back in December of 2007. I just adjusted the directions a bit for the sake of simplicity. I shouldn\u2019t be surprised that the cookies were so good\u2026the recipe is from Chef Jerry Monta\u00f1ez, who was a chef\/baker at Gracie Mansion.

I agree with former Mayor Bloomberg\u2019s assessment. These cookies really are \u201caddictive\u201d! You can find an oatmeal raisin cookie and gingerbread cookie dipped in white chocolate (which I have not tried) recipes written in Chef Monta\u00f1ez\u2019s style on the Daily News<\/em> site<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n
