During a live Q&amp;A on <em>Bon App\u00e9tit<\/em>\u2019s Facebook page, I had asked for his favorite \u201cquick &amp; easy, kid-friendly recipe\u201d. I changed the meat, but the stir-fry suggestion was a gem. This simple recipe that I came up with has become a family favorite. It only takes approximately 20 minutes to prepare when I use leftover rice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-healthy-fried-rice-recipe\">Healthy Fried Rice Recipe<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"print-this-button-shell\">\n<button type=\"button\" class=\"print-this-button\" onClick=\"parent.location='https:\/\/mominthecity.com\/easy-turkey-and-vegetable-stir-fry\/?printthis=1&printsect=1'\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Print This!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/button>\n<\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 Start -->\n<div class=\"print-this-content\">\n<p><strong>Simple Turkey and Vegetable Fried Rice<\/strong><br>\n<em>Yield: 4 \u2013 6 servings<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups of cooked white or brown rice<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp  olive oil<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup carrots, peeled and diced<\/li>\n<li>1 cup frozen peas and corn mixture<\/li>\n<li>1 lb ground turkey<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Prepare the rice according to the directions on its package.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over a medium heat.<\/li>\n<li>Add the carrots to the pan and let them cook until they are bright orange (for 2 to 3 minutes). Then, add the peas and corn to the pan and stir-fry (cook while stirring occasionally) everything until the vegetables are tender \u2013 approximately 5 minutes. Set the vegetables aside in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Brown the turkey meat in the pan until it is well done. Drain any excess liquid before placing the meat back into the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Add the vegetables and rice to the pan with the turkey meat. Add the soy sauce. Stir-fry (cook while stirring occasionally) everything together until it is thoroughly mixed and heated \u2013 approximately 3 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 End -->\n\n\n\n\n<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recipe Notes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>*You can substitute any other seasonal vegetables for my vegetable picks. I like to switch things up with various peppers and zucchini. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*You can always adjust the soy sauce level (by adding more or less) depending on your family\u2019s taste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*For an even healthier fried rice, you can substitute low-sodium soy sauce, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3ioIKml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">coconut aminos<\/a> (soy sauce replacement), or <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3wKTq3S\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">tamari <\/a>(a gluten-free version of soy sauce) for the regular soy sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Thanks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/columns\/the-foodist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Andrew<\/a>!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>If you found this recipe helpful, please share it.
