\n(This is the \u201cThank You\u201d video that we created for attendees of Michael and Sean\u2019s 3\/10\/12 birthday celebration.)\nIt\u2019s really important to me that my kids take the time to say a special \u201cthank you\u201d when people do something out of the ordinary for them. Gratitude is a huge deal around here. Birthday parties are no exception. When people take a chunk of time out of their busy schedules to\u00a0 celebrate with them, thanks are in order\u2026especially during the school year when the weekends are basically the only huge chunks of family time for most of our friends.<\/p>\n
My kids are great at saying \u201cthank you\u201d, but I have to constantly be on top of them regarding writing their thank you cards. I know that this is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is important to me for them to grow up giving proper thanks. If no one had come, would it have been \u201cthe best birthday ever\u201d (as they deemed their party)? No. They would have been sad. So, they can take a bit of time to acknowledge those who came and made their special day a blast. Anyway, I didn\u2019t have the time, energy (or inclination) to stay on top of them about this task this week. I\u2019m still nursing a sore head and neck from an incident at the party that I will write about later. That is why we put together this \u201cThank You\u201d video. They get to say \u201cthanks\u201d in a special way\u2026and it was fun to do\u2026no nagging necessary.\u00a0 (When researching dance party ideas for the boys\u2019 party, I totally borrowed this idea from the parties that Deb\u2019s Family Disco produce here in NYC.
