Usually, I try to take a break from writing on Wednesdays, but I just have so much to share \u2013 especially this week.<\/p>\n

I must say that I\u2019m so glad that this election is over. As I write this post, I have no idea who won. I hope that it\u2019s Obama but the world won\u2019t end if it\u2019s McCain either. I just hope that we (as Americans) will support WHOEVER wins. They will need all of our support and frankly, I\u2019m so tired of all the divisiveness of late.<\/p>\n $\"\\"Our\\"$ \n

In any event, the pictures are of me in the voting booth with my two boys. (My husband voted after work and school.) The thing that I love about living under a democracy is that every vote counts. I\u2019m happy to be able to involve my kids in the process. On Monday, I told Michael (my four years old son) that we would be voting on Tuesday. He asked if he would be able to vote. When I said no (because of his age), he wasn\u2019t too happy. So, I told him that I would vote for him and asked him whom he wanted me to choose. \u201cBarack Obama,\u201d he said with a big smile. \u201cHe\u2019s going to be the President of the United States!\u201d We\u2019ll see if Michael was right\u2026.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the lines were long (about an hour and a \u00bd wait), but the mood was festive. As we waited, people would drive by and yell \u201cObama!\u201d out of their windows. (I was thinking to myself, \u201cThey better have voted too!\u201d) The elderly people in line were sweet and funny. One went and bought some goodies for the kids waiting in line. Another had several of us laughing. He said something to the effect of, \u201cI\u2019m out here standing in this long line. Obama better win. If he doesn\u2019t, I\u2019m going to go beat him up for wasting my time.\u201d All in all, the wait was relatively painless. Michael declared that \u201cthe vote thing\u201d was his \u201cfavorite part of the day\u201d. Mine\u2019s too!<\/p>\n
