The Boys Are Back Movie Review

Posted by Anne on February 3, 2010

The Boys Are Back starring Clive Owen is a tale of a father and son who strengthen their relationship after the death of a wife and mother. This is Clive Owen in a role unlike any he has done before. His character Joe Warr has always been an on the go Dad due to his work as a sportswriter leaving his relationship with his son strained. After the death of his wife, he is left to care for and raise his son. Then, his older son hops a plane and joins him and 7 year old Artie leaving him to get a real feel for parenthood.

Overall, I thought his was a really good movie. It started off a little slow and sad but did grab my attention. I loved watching a true bond form between a father and his sons.

The DVD also has great bonus features such as a Photographic Journey, taking views behind the making of the film and also a glance into the life of Simon Carr whose life inspired this film in, A Father & Two Sons, on Set featuring Simon Carr and his real-life sons.
